On June 17, 2025, ARCADIA participated in the European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA 2025) held in Rimini, Italy, one of Europe’s premier events dedicated to advancing climate adaptation. ARCADIA was represented by Alessandro Bosso from ART-ER/ARCADIA, who joined an expert panel in the policy session titled “Scaling Innovative Adaptation Finance Solutions: Transference of Financial Structures and Instruments”.
This session, chaired by Gloria Salmoral (Icatalist/MIP4Adapt), brought together leading voices from Horizon Europe projects including CLIMATEFIT, SOTERIA, REGILIENCE, CARDIMED, NATALIE, and ARCADIA. The discussion focused on innovative approaches to adaptation finance, exploring how financial structures and instruments can be transferred and scaled to support resilient and inclusive climate adaptation across Europe.
ARCADIA’s contribution, thanks to Alessandro Bosso from Art-ER (leading partner of the project) highlighted the project’s commitment to leveraging Nature-based Solutions as vital tools for climate adaptation, emphasizing the importance of innovative financing mechanisms to enable their large-scale deployment. This aligns with ARCADIA’s mission to demonstrate NbS effectiveness through collaboration across eight European regions and communities.

ECCA 2025 provided a platform for ARCADIA and its partners to exchange knowledge, showcase progress, and foster collaboration with a broad network of stakeholders including policymakers, researchers, and practitioners dedicated to building climate-resilient societies.
We are proud to contribute to shaping the future of adaptation finance and look forward to continuing our work to scale impactful Nature-based Solutions across Europe.
