Agricultural University of Plovdiv and the Regional Bioeconomy Hub Plovdiv in the regional conference “Economic Partnership and Business Development in the Plovdiv Region”
On April 24, 2025, the Regional Bioeconomy Hub Plovdiv participated in one of the most significant business events in Bulgaria, held at the “Trakia Economic Zone” – Plovdiv.
Agricultural University of Plovdiv (AUP) and the Trakia Economic Zone are strategic partners in the Plovdiv Bioeconomy Hub. Besides discussions on the opportunities for investment, economic growth, and partnerships in the fastest-growing industrial region of Bulgaria, the invited organisations exhibited their achievements in a special area with stands for presenting companies, business solutions, and establishing new partnerships.
The AUP and the Hub had the opportunity to share their project work and the initiatives in the framework of the Horizon projects ARCADIA, MainstreamBio, BIOLOC, etc. There were useful discussions with representatives of municipalities, local and central authorities, and the business elite from 3 countries – Bulgaria, Turkey, and Romania.
The Regional Governor of Plovdiv Prof. Hristina Yancheva was also promoting the activities of the ARCADIA and the other projects in the context of sustainable regional development. The Regional Administration Plovdiv under her supervision is a strategic partner in the ARCADIA project in Bulgaria.
The conference welcomed more than 250 guests and provided an important platform for dialogue between businesses, investors, and institutions, reinforcing the role of Plovdiv as an economic engine and an important point for cross-border business partnerships. The event was covered by a number of local and national media.
During the conference, the AUP and the Hub representatives shared ideas and discussed opportunities for cooperation in areas such as sustainable agriculture, innovative bio-based products, circular business models, and transnational projects in line with the European Green Deal.
