11 April. As part of the ARCADIA project, which promotes the application of Nature-based Solutions (NbS), a site visit was organized to the Sljeme – Sesvete zone, one of three Co-innovation Labs in Zagreb and a strategic City Project area.

Participants reviewed implemented interventions from the EU-funded proGIreg project, including a therapeutic garden, green wall, and green roof. Projects that were postponed due to the pandemic and the earthquake — such as the HUB_S entrepreneurial incubator and the Music School — were also discussed, with implementation expected in the coming period.
Insights from the ARCADIA project will be integrated into the urban project assignment for the site, as well as into the redevelopment of selected existing buildings, emphasizing the use of current capacities.

The initiative highlights the application of NbS principles and underscores the importance of citizen involvement through participatory processes. The project envisions a transformation that fosters sustainability, inclusiveness, and community resilience in the heart of Sesvete.
