The Arcadia Climathons

Climathon is a global series of local, community‑driven events that empower cities to tackle climate change “from the ground up” through innovation and collaboration. Organised by our partner Climate KIC, each Climathon brings together citizens, experts, and local stakeholders for 12-48-hour sprints to design practical solutions to city‑specific climate challenges.

What Climathon is

A Climathon is a time‑boxed event where multidisciplinary teams work together to prototype projects, services, or policies that reduce emissions and build resilience in their city. Since 2015, Climathon has supported hundreds of organisers and thousands of participants worldwide, strengthening local climate ecosystems and inspiring follow-up action.

Connection to Arcadia

In the Arcadia project, we are delivering eight Climathons focused explicitly on nature‑based solutions, using this format to co‑design projects that restore ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and improve urban and rural climate resilience. These events sit at the intersection of community engagement, local knowledge, and innovation, helping to translate nature-based ideas into tangible actions on the ground.

Dive into our Climathons and join a community of innovators, changemakers, and nature‑lovers working together to design bold, nature‑based solutions to climate challenges.
