POSTED ON

The Mediterranean Forum for the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change will take place on 19 June 2025 in Bologna, Italy. This hybrid event brings together regional and local authorities, policymakers, experts, and stakeholders from across the Mediterranean to discuss and advance climate adaptation efforts tailored to the unique challenges of the region.

Addressing Mediterranean climate challenges through multi-level governance

The Mediterranean region is particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts such as rising temperatures, droughts, coastal erosion, and biodiversity loss. The Forum will focus on multi-level governance as a key enabler for effective adaptation strategies, highlighting the role of Charter Signatories and local governments in driving climate resilience.

The event programme includes:

  • Keynote speeches by leading experts in climate adaptation
  • Panel discussions on innovative solutions and best practices
  • Interactive workshops addressing themes like water management, urban resilience, ecosystem-based adaptation, and social inclusion
  • Networking sessions to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange

The day will conclude with a reception at the Auditorium Biagi – Biblioteca Salaborsa in Bologna’s city centre, providing an informal setting to continue conversations and build partnerships.

The Forum welcomes both in-person and online participation. The working language is English, with Italian translation available to ensure accessibility for all attendees.
